Magazine or Newspaper Article Photocopy Request Form Use this form to request a magazine or newspaper article that TRL does not own. If you do not need a specific article but need information about a subject, please use the Ask A Librarian Email Reference form. Request only ONE article per form.  To avoid delays, check whether the article you need is available through one of our online reference databases.  Several databases provide full-text of magazine and newspaper articles.  TRL may be able to request a photocopy of an article from another library through Interlibrary Loan (ILL) for TRL patrons (library card is required).  Warning Concerning Copyright Restrictions Requests may take 2-6 weeks depending on availability. For immediate assistance, call Central Reference at 704-INFO (360-704-4636) in the Olympia calling area or 1-800-562-6022 or your local library. Starting October 1, 2009 - TRL will pass through to patrons any fees that other library systems charge to fill TRL Photocopy requests.  Most Photocopy transactions do not have a fee.  You are required to state how much you will pay to obtain a Photocopy through ILL.  (More info about ILL fees) Starting August 10, 2009 - TRL patrons are limited to 10 active Photocopy Requests at a time. TRL does not request the same article for the same patron within a six month period. TRL does not accept or process ILL Requests from patrons who currently have overdue ILL materials on their records. Warning Concerning Copyright Restrictions

   The copyright law of the United States (Title 17, United States Code) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted material.
   Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction.  One of these specified conditions is that the photocopy or reproduction is not to be "used for any other purpose other than private study, scholarship, or research".  If a user makes a request for, or later uses, a photocopy or reproduction for purposes in excess of "fair use", that user may be liable for copyright infringement.
   This institution reserves the right to refuse to accept a copying order if, in its judgment, fulfillment of the order would involve violation of copyright law.
